At Girls State there are various activities to do here in the afternoon. Those activities are games, community service, and media.

The Girls in Games have done some great trust building exercises. This adds to our community in a lot of ways. It provides us with girls of the next generation knowing how to build bonds with each other and others in the world. This could create a stable and trusting environment with differences but in a proper manner to discuss them. If we have a stable and safe environment to work in then these girls are capable of anything from solving problems to passing bills by working and trusting each other. Which we need in our state, in our country, and our world. We need to have that stability and trust in our government for all Americans to have trust in our government. It only takes one little step in the right direction to take a Nation far. This seems like a lot to put on some simple games but if you can use these skills in a small manner than why could we not try and use them on a large scale.

Community service is a good group to do good deeds in daily life! You do service around the campus, and even outside of campus. While interviewing Brenna Sayer for community service on her side of what it is, community service for Brenna is a chance to give back to the community and help out. She helps people and does it because it doesn’t benefit her, she says. She likes to take action and do service for other people. She says it makes her feel good about herself. The community service group went to the Children’s Museum cleaning toys, as well as disinfecting different things for future exhibits. Once she started doing it, she realized that cleaning the toys helped because it will stop the spread of germs and diseases. Doing community service makes her feel selfless and caring. Each group for community service also got to partake in making fleece blankets that will be available to homeless veterans. This project was made possible through a grant given by Ameritas to help supply the items needed to make these blankets.

Media was a team of 16 girls made up from all 8 floors. These girls covered many different topics including their floor profiles, party platform meetings, and interviews with many different important people that attended or visited Cornhusker Girls State 2024.
