Floor 2 City of Wilson – By: Luna Juneau
Posted on: June 20, 2024Floor 2: the lowest of the succeeding 7 floors, but not inferior to those. In the same way that a chain is as strong as its weakest link, a structure cannot exist without a strong base. Regardless of our circumstances, we shot sky high, with growing exhilaration for the local citizen of Wilson, our 2024 State Governor Candidate, Swara Dasari.
The Delegates of Floor 2 have an impressive understanding of the Nebraska government as they are able to engage in thoughtful discussions and debates about Nebraska-specific issues, showcasing their deep understanding of the state’s governance. With their incredible potential and determination, there’s no doubt that these girls will go on to accomplish great things and make a positive impact in the world.
Led by Junior Counselor Winona Mitchell and Senior Counselor Lee Brauer, Delegates of Floor 2 uplifted one another in their political races. Passionate, genius, and well-dressed are just a few words to describe the Citizens of Wilson. But we are much more, for example, Zoe Ferrarchi is a pescatarian, Addi Brase hates cheese, Makenna Betty’s volleyball team won the state championship, and Meredith Breinig was born on the way to the hospital. The delegates of Wilson stem from an assortment of diverse backgrounds and various Nebraska Cities like Arapahoe, Burwell, Central City, Geneva, and North Loup. Some of the high schools we attend are Shelby-Rising City Public Schools, Centura Public Schools, Blue Hill High School and Twin River High School. Some quick statistics about the Wilson City Delegates: 78.6% of Delegates have less than 100 other students in their graduating class. 96.9% of Delegates plan to attend college while the remaining 0.4% are undecided. And finally, University of Nebraska at Lincoln is the dream school of 40.5% of Wilson Delegates. This just goes to show the diversity that is available at Girls State to learn and grow from in all our different backgrounds.
